Up close, you experience the hellish workdays alongside the overburdened Heike (an impressive lead performance by 59-year-old debutante Sabine Thalau) as her breathing space shrinks ever further, like a ticking time bomb. Realistic and relevant.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Film has the power to reveal what usually remains unseen, including the invisible workforces of society. Heike is one of them. She has been working in the cleaning sector for 40 years. In her role as a manager, mediating daily between the company\u2019s bosses, the clients and the staff, the pressure has increased noticeably. When dark clouds loom, Heike has to get her hands dirty in more ways than one. <em>I Understand Your Displeasure<\/em> is social realist cinema with a heart for urgent stories in the tradition of the Dardenne brothers and Ken Loach \u2013 one need only think of his similarly titled <em>Sorry We Missed You<\/em> (FFG2019). German director and co-screenwriter Kilian Armando Friedrich makes an empathetic plea for solidarity with this film, which had its world premiere in the Panorama section of the Berlinale.
