Dear DaF Teacher,
For the fifth time, the Belgian Association of Germanists and German Teachers (BGDV), in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut and the German Embassy, is hosting an online German quiz.
In this event, two or more DaF classes from various Belgian secondary schools compete against each other. The quiz is part of the nationwide “Week for German” (October 6–12, 2025) and takes place Monday through Friday during regular school hours. Of course, your class should join in!
The online quiz covers German in the broadest sense. It runs on Kahoot and lasts approximately 20 minutes. There are 20 multiple-choice questions on vocabulary, grammar, typical expressions, cultural knowledge, everyday language, etc., at levels A1, A2, and B1—so it’s suitable for beginners as well as more advanced learners. Above all, it’s meant to be fun!
Will your DaF class come out on top? Sign them up! You’ll find the registration form on the BGDV website (bgdv.be). You’ll provide the essential information we need to place your class (A1, A2, or B1), determine their playing time (between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.), and match them against classes of similar level.
After the Week for German, the two strongest classes at each level (A1, A2, and B1) will be invited to Brussels for a live grand finale at the German Embassy on a Wednesday afternoon in early 2026.
There are great prizes! Every year, the competition is thrilling as learners and their teachers give it their all and inspire the audience with their enthusiasm.
So don’t hesitate—register your DaF classes now! Please note that each participating class needs its own registration form. It will be a fantastic experience for your students!
Have fun!
