In the music-theatre performance “SPLASH!”, everything revolves around water. Water as the source of life, which we associate with primal power, beauty, and fascination – but also with joy and fun. Yet, the careless use of this precious resource is also part of the story of water – a story inseparably linked to our own.
In “SPLASH!”, the performing musicians create different soundscapes and invite both children and adults to an interactive play with the personal and cultural memory of water.
SPLASH is a co-production of Theater Marabu, the Beethovenfest Bonn and the Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen, in cooperation with the University of Music and Dance Cologne and the Ruhr University Bochum.
It is funded by the program Jupiter – Performing Arts for Young Audiences of the German Federal Cultural Foundation, and supported by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
