Dear teachers of German as a foreign language (DaF),

For the fifth time, the Belgian Association of Germanists and Teachers of German (BGDV), in collaboration with the Goethe Institute and the German Embassy, is organising an online German quiz.
On this occasion, two (or more) classes of DaF learners from various Belgian secondary schools compete against each other. The quiz is an integral part of German Week in Belgium (6-12 October 2025) and will take place from Monday to Friday during normal school hours. Of course, your class is also invited to take part!

The online quiz focuses on the German language in the broadest sense. It is taken via Kahoot and lasts around 20 minutes. The 20 multiple-choice questions cover vocabulary, grammar, typical expressions, civilisation, everyday language, etc., for levels A1, A2 and B1, so for beginners and more advanced learners alike. Above all, the aim is to have fun!
Will your class be the best in German? Register now! The registration form can be found on the BGDV website: bgdv.be. This form will enable us to collect the information we need to classify your group by level (A1, A2, B1), plan its participation (between 8am and 5pm), and determine which other classes it will be playing against.
After German Week, the two best classes in each level (A1, A2, B1) will be invited to Brussels on a Wednesday afternoon in early 2026 to take part in the live grand final at the German Embassy.
Superb prizes are up for grabs! Each year, the suspense is high, the students give their all, the teachers support them, and everyone is enthusiastic!
So don’t delay: register your DaF classes now!

⚠️ Please note: a separate form must be completed for each participating class.
It’s sure to be a memorable experience for your students!
Have fun!
