Dear German teacher,
For the sixth time, the Belgian Association of Germanists and German Teachers (BGDV), in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut and the German Embassy, is organising an online German quiz.
Two or more German classes from secondary schools all across Belgium compete against each other. The German quiz is part of the nationwide “Week of German” and takes place from Monday to Friday during normal teaching hours. Of course, your class should take part too!
The online quiz covers German in the broadest sense. It runs on Kahoot and takes about 20 minutes. There are 20 multiple-choice questions on vocabulary, grammar, common idioms, culture and country knowledge, everyday language and so on, at levels A1, A2 and B1 — so for beginners and advanced learners alike. And above all, it’s meant to be fun!
Will your German class come out on top? Sign them up! You will find the registration form on the BGDV website (bgdv.be). It provides us with the key information we need to place your class at the right level (A1, A2 or B1) and to determine when it will play (between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.) and which classes will face each other.
After the Week of German, the two strongest classes at each level (A1, A2 and B1) will be invited to Brussels on a Wednesday afternoon in early 2026 to play the grand final “live” at the German Embassy.
There are great prizes to be won! Every year it’s exciting to see the students and their teachers give it their all and win over the audience with their enthusiasm.
So don’t hesitate — register your German classes soon! Please note that a separate registration form must be completed for each class wishing to take part. It will be a great experience for your students!
Have fun!
